Hello! I’m Dana Orr, a long time resident of the New River Valley. I don’t just sell homes; I sell the New River Valley. It is a great place to live and work, with friendly neighbors and an active community. Transitioning into our area is so easy. You’ll find complete strangers smiling at you at the mall, and ole’ time farmers giving you a nod as you pass on the road. I’ve lived here for over 30 years, and have been selling real estate for the last 12 years. Our son, who is now 25, and married, went through the public schools in Blacksburg. As a former volunteer at the schools (and former soccer Mom extraordinaire), I have first hand knowledge, and would be happy to share my experiences. Our son graduated from Va Tech, and I know the student housing market well. If you are looking for a person who knows the New River Valley market, then I’m your agent! I’m FAST to respond to your calls, and promise same day response. I work week-ends, nights, and sometimes Holidays! Here’s what one of my clients had to say: We're Glad We Had Someone Like Dana "We met Dana at an Open House and even at this first meeting we were impressed by her personality and eagerness (without being aggressive) to answer questions. I always thought we were dragging out our choices, but Dana was so patient and always upbeat and cheerful. We're glad we had someone like Dana to help us find our home. Making An Offer >Evaluating the First Offer
Your dining room table is the scene of high drama. Your home has been listed for sale for six weeks, and finally, the first offer has come in. You are meeting with the agents, and are very excited until they mention the price--it is a lot less than you expected.
Before you feel offended, however, remember that the first offer is often just the beginning of a negotiating process. Your agent can help you weigh the good and bad points, evaluating the price in relationship to the terms or conditions of the sale. Sometimes an offer with a low price can look quite attractive once you understand all of the terms. If you are willing to make some compromises, the buyers may accept a counter offer that will give you more money. A lower price from highly qualified buyers may be better than one from people who may have difficulties with financing. Keep in mind that your first negotiated price is often your best price!

How much does a celebrity's name boost the price of a property?
|
| A |
Typically no more than 5 percent, but there are exceptions--the greater the fame, the higher the price!
